Fluorescein angiography is involved in the diagnosis of a wide range of retinal disorders including those resulting from diabetes, which is now the most common cause of blindness.

Laser therapy is used for the treatment of retinal conditions many of which are the result of diabetes. With the help of the laser, diabetic retinopathy can be treated successfully in 70% of cases, if the treatment is given early enough.
